Import Overview
The most powerful feature of SureFood is our new AI-Assisted Batch Import.
This works by utilising AI to do something called Optical Character Recognition (OCR). This essentially scans any documents uploaded to it looking for data. This data is then given to our AI to interpret and match to existing Nutritics data fields.
Don’t worry, we know that AI can sometimes make mistakes, so any matches the AI makes for you will have to be validated by a human user before being uploaded to your Nutritics account or published to your “Data Source”.
AI-Assisted Batch Import
AI-Assisted Batch Import is probably the most important and powerful feature of SureFood. It leverages AI models to make data entry and validation much faster and much easier.
Start by clicking on the Start Button:
This will open the Start Menu which gives you quick access to all of SureFood’s features. This menu might look a little different depending on what features you have enabled. It will generally look like this:
To use AI-Assisted Batch Import, click on Batch Import or under the Create tab, you can choose New Food > Batch Import.
Clicking Batch Import will open the Batch Importer panel:
To upload your product data using the Batch Importer, simply drag your files into the File Window or click on the File Window to add files from your computer.
Uploads can be completed using any file template or format, with the option to upload either a single file or multiple files at once:
Your Import Type will automatically generate from your global account settings, for example EU.
Note: If you’re uploading Multiple Products, you will have to use a Spreadsheet.
If you are uploading Single Products, you can use PDFs, Text Documents, or Images. When more than 5 files are uploaded at once, the import will automatically become scheduled and you will receive a notification once it’s complete.
The files you add will appear in the File Window. Once you have added your files, click on Analyse to start the Batch Import.
The structure of your files will now be analysed by the Batch Importer.
Once analysed, your product data will be added to an Import Queue and you will be shown your Import Report which looks like this:
Note: The time it takes for your Batch Import to complete depends on the volume of data you are importing. More data means longer processing times so it may take some time for the upload to complete, this waiting time is expected and you will be notified when your import is complete.
If your upload has used an alternative file, you will be prompted to confirm the mapping in your Foods Import Report to ensure the columns in your file match the system columns:
Once this is complete, you can click Confirm Mapping:
Your import will then begin and you will be notified via email as soon as it’s ready:
