Dublin, Ireland - Nutritics a global food service software provider, announces a new partnership with Norfolk-based Nutritional Information Solutions (NIS) to further enhance standards in recipe management and food labelling across the UK.

Nutritics and NIS have joined forces to launch a one-stop solution called NIS Nutritics, an advanced cloud-based food composition database, enabling food businesses to monitor:
  • Recipe development and operating procedures
  • Nutritional and allergen data

The partnership will provide an exciting opportunity for food businesses to improve their labels, and provide consumers with more robust information for healthier food choices.

As part of the agreement, Nutritics is the preferred nutrition software provider, establishing a more standardised software labelling system in the UK and Ireland that is geared towards the food industry’s needs as well as complying with recent food information for consumers legislation.

NIS Nutritics is also the first system under evaluation for accreditation by the European Food Information Resource (EuroFIR, BE).

Nutritics’ Founder and Chief Executive Officer Damian O’Kelly commented, “This partnership with NIS is an exciting opportunity for both organisations to promote European harmonisation of food standards that will create an increasingly high value to food service operators in the food manufacturing, labelling and retail sector.”

As a division of QIB Extra (wholly owned subsidiary of the Quadram Institute Biosciences formerly the Institute of Food Research), NIS is providing food business with services calculating the nutritional content of food products as well as supporting Trading Standards Organisations and others to ensure information on food labels is accurate and informative.

Paul Finglas, Head of Food Databanks at QIB and creator of NIS, said, “The combination of the latest Nutritics labelling software with our extensive scientific and data knowledge and capabilities, provides an exciting opportunity for food businesses to improve their labels, and provide consumers with more robust information for healthier food choices.”
